Colon Cancer Screenings

Men and women

50 years and older should get screened for colon cancer.

Colon cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in Delaware. There is no one reason why people get colon cancer. It is usually found in people who are older or in people who have had relatives with colon cancer. The colon cancer test, called a colonoscopy, can both find and treat cancer if it’s found in the colon. It can find and remove growths in the colon called polyps. Polyps can become cancer, so it’s important to find and remove them early.
