Our work involves not only telling the public about the services offered but linking back to the governor’s office and keeping the legislators informed of the progress we’re making. In our consumer-directed campaigns, we’ve put a face on cancer by featuring people who’ve been helped by the programs. It puts the value of what we do in human terms. Before we begin any new effort, we always look at the data to identify opportunities. Our interaction with other committees — in particular the Disparities Committee—helps guide the creation of new campaigns once we see a need or communications gap identified.
